The Ratingz Network is dedicated to providing consumers with a forum to share information and opinions about local businesses and services, ranging from restaurants to realtors, nightclubs to mechanics.
We think there are many interesting stories to be told about local ratings - stories that will interest your readers - and we'd like to help you write those stories by providing information and access to our company founders. Plus, we'd like to offer you a chance to make a little money (we know there are costs involved in maintaining your blog!)
Background
The Ratingz Network operates a growing family of websites where consumers can rate and review local businesses, professional services, and sometimes just fun stuff. The company was founded by John Swapceinski, whose previous sites include RateMyProfessors.com, the number one ratings site among college students, RateMyTeachers.com and RateMDs.com.
Story Ideas
As a blogger, you'll put your own spin on whatever you write… but here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Word-of-mouth recommendations have always been important for local businesses, but now the referrals are going online. See a sample story at wygk.com.
- In many professions, referrals usually come from professional organizations or paid membership directories. Now, online rating sites offer independent ratings and reviews from actual clients.
- Many people make product purchase decisions based on online reviews. Now they can see reviews of local businesses and professional services as well!
- Are the yellow pages dead? More and more people are turning to the web as their first source of information on local businesses.
- People want to be heard! For many people, online rating sites offer a place to voice their opinions and praise or pan local businesses.
- Are online ratings just for flamers? Surprisingly, most online ratings are positive, though there tend to be more very high and very low ratings rather than average ratings.
- Why is the legal profession disliked? Of all the sites operated by the Ratingz Network and its partners, LawyerRatingz.com has the lowest average rating.

Making Money
We know that running a successful blog site takes effort, and we'd like to help with a small financial contribution. Write about the Ratingz network and include a link to one or more of our sites (see the list on the right side of this page), then send us a link to your blog entry at blogger@ratingz.net.
- If your blog site has a Google PR of 5 or greater OR an Alexa rank in the top 1,000,000, we will send you an Amazon.com gift certificate for $25.
- If your blog site does not meet the above criteria, you still have a chance to earn a reward. Each month we will randomly select up to 5 bloggers who write about us for a $25 Amazon gift certificate!
The Write About Us incentive program is subject to cancellation at any time. Please check this page to be sure the program is still in effect before submitting your blog.
